FRANK COGAN – Meath and the War of Independence
Frank Cogan is an historian of County Meath and a regular contributor to Riocht na Midhe . He will look at a county where, according to many historians, very little happened during the War of Independence. But is that really the case. The burning of Trim, a (disputed) number of IRA executions, some determined ‘Black and Tan’ activity, and the Salford ambush suggest otherwise.

PHILIP BOUCHER HAYES – The Search for the Falcon Blanco
26 ships in the Spanish Armada sank off the Irish coast in 1588. Only 6 have ever been found. RTÉ journalist Philip Boucher-Hayes has spent a year trying to find one, the Falcon Blanco.  Philip picked up the trail 431 years later and recorded his trawling through the memories of four octogenarian divers, the folklore of Inishbofin, the Spanish and English archives, and ultimately the seabed of the Galway coast. The result is a podcast series of an actual hunt for sunken treasure.
Philip will give Hinterland a behind the scenes peek at the making of his podcast series Falcon Blanco, and answer questions about why he hasn't found something more grown up to do with his time than hunting for treasure.

Taken From Snow White By Kevin Segrave
Taken From snow white
A monologue in tribute to the traditional Irish publican.
The Narrator (played by Robbie Clarke) is young enough for energy, old enough to love the concept of the Irish pub and those who made it so. Reflecting on the death of Jack Olohan, a universal story - in Ireland, at least - is told through his view of the life just ended.
Kevin Segrave is a barrister and an adopted son of Kells. A founder member of Kells Heritage Theatre, he performed in a number of their productions. He wrote "Maeves Return", performed in 1999 by Kells Musical and Dramatic Society. He'd like to impose more of his musings on the planet in due course.
